■N+school 9: "Towards a New Urban Arhitecture: Talking about my starting point"
Tatsu Matsuda gives a mini-lecture at the N+gallery of Nanyodo Bookshop (the most famous architectural bookshop in Japan), mainly on his experiences in France and some ambitions for his independence (For further details, please see the Nanyodo Website).
Date: Sat. 16th of June, 2007
Time: 18:00-20:00
Place: N+Gallery(4th floor) at Nanyodo Bookshop
Lecturer: Tatsu MATSUDA (Architect)
Navigator: Toru KASHIHARA (Architect)
Adviser: Takahiro TAJI(associate professor of Meiji University), Yasuhiro MINAMI(Architect, associate professor of Kokushikan University)
Title: Towards a New Urban Architecture: Talking about my starting point.
Outline: "Nothing has been constructed by my own hand and this is a good reason to talk about my independence as an architect. How have architecture and urbanism separated seriously in Japan now? What will build the bridge between them? The potentiality of 'Urban Architecture' will be questioned with the keywords of l'Urbanisme, la cour, Le Corbusier and El Bulli etc... How to make use of the experiences in Paris for design? Is a new type of organization possible in Japan's architectures offices? What does Urban Architecture bring to us Japanese? My ambition is to become independent."
■Lisbon Architecture Triennale: Tabroids of Team Japan available
Lisbon Architecture Triennale will be held at Lisbon from 31th May to 31th July, 2007. 500 copies of the Japanese Team Tabloids (free paper in English) designed by miri-meter are available. Please contact me if you can distribute them, such as putting them at some bookshops or universities.
